  • How long does it take to charge my car at home?Home

Divide your battery size by the charger power and add about 10 percent for losses. A 60 kWh battery on a 7.4 kW charger takes around 8 hours to charge from empty. On 11 kW it takes around 6 hours, if your car accepts 11 kW.

  • Can I install a charger in an apartment?Home

Often yes. You will need permission from your building management and a dedicated parking space with access to a power supply. We can survey the space and prepare the documents your management company asks for.

  • Do I need a three-phase supply?Home

No. A single-phase supply supports a 7.4 kW charger, which suits most households. Three-phase allows 11 or 22 kW. Your electrician can confirm what your home has.

  • What does installation include?Home

A site survey, the wallbox, cabling from your distribution board, a dedicated protection device, commissioning and a short handover so you know how to use it. Extra cable length or civil work is quoted separately.

  • How many chargers can my building support?Business

It depends on the spare capacity of your connection. With load management we share that capacity between chargers, so you can usually install more bays than the supply could power at full output.

  • Can we charge drivers for energy?Business

Yes. Our software can charge per kWh, per minute or per session, apply different tariffs for staff, visitors and tenants, and pay out revenue to the right account.

  • Do you also maintain chargers we did not install?Business

We can maintain most OCPP chargers. Send us the models and locations, and we will assess them before offering a maintenance plan.

  • What is the difference between AC and DC charging?Technology

AC chargers send power to the car, which converts it to DC in its on-board charger. DC chargers do the conversion themselves, so they can deliver much more power. AC suits long stays, DC suits short ones.

  • Which connectors do your chargers use?Technology

Our AC chargers use the Type 2 connector, and our DC chargers use CCS2. Both are the standard in the UAE and Egypt for most current electric cars.

  • What is OCPP?Technology

OCPP is an open protocol that chargers use to talk to management software. It means you can change software providers without replacing hardware.

  • How do I pay on the Quikr Network?Network

Create an account in the app, add a payment method, then start a session with the app or an RFID card. You receive one invoice for all sessions.

  • Can I host a Quikr charger at my property?Network

Yes. Under our hosting model, you provide the space and the connection, and we install, operate and maintain the charger. See the Hosting page for how revenue is shared.
